FAQ
Ambulatory surgery, also called outpatient surgery, refers to procedures that allow patients to go home the same day without the need for an overnight hospital stay. These surgeries are typically less invasive, require shorter recovery times, and are performed in a safe, fully equipped surgical setting.
At Joaquino Plastic Surgery, most cosmetic procedures—like eyelid surgery, liposuction, or breast enhancement—are done on an ambulatory basis. This means patients can recover in the comfort of their own home soon after surgery.
Ambulatory Surgery
We perform our procedures in Department of Health (DOH)–accredited outpatient facilities, which means they have passed strict government standards for safety, sterility, and equipment. This accreditation ensures that our operating room is built and maintained to the same standards required in hospitals, including emergency preparedness and infection control. Only board‑certified specialists are allowed to operate here—this ensures every procedure is performed by properly trained surgeons and anesthesiologists with verified credentials.
Choosing a DOH‑accredited facility gives us peace of mind, knowing the surgery is performed in an environment that meets high levels of safety, quality, and professional standards.
DOH‑Accredited Operating Room Facility
Every safe surgery begins with thorough preparation. At Joaquino Plastic Surgery, we conduct a comprehensive pre‑operative evaluation to understand your goals, review your medical history, and perform a detailed physical examination.
We then refer you to our partner laboratories for the necessary tests—such as blood work—and request cardiopulmonary clearance when needed, depending on your age, health status, and the type of procedure planned.
This careful, step‑by‑step process ensures that you are in optimal condition for surgery, and gives both you and our team the confidence that every procedure is performed safely.
Pre‑Operative Care
Care doesn’t end when surgery is over—it continues throughout your recovery. Patients are discharged after clearance by both the surgeon and the anesthesiologist, ensuring they are stable and ready to go home safely.
Before leaving, patients receive a post-operative kit and prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medications. We provide both verbal and written instructions so you and your caregivers know exactly how to manage your recovery at home. During the crucial first days, we maintain close follow‑up online, allowing you to reach us easily and ensuring that your healing is on track.
Our goal is to make your recovery as smooth, safe, and supported as your surgical experience.
